Sunshine Coast Dragons Abreast (SCDA Mavericks), hosted a successful fundraising morning tea on Sunday, 20 October, raising over $2000 in support of the Cindy McKenzie Breast Cancer Program. The event was held at the home of club President Tara in Peregian Springs, where members and their families gathered on a beautiful spring day to show their support for this important cause.
It was truly a team effort, with SCDA Mavericks members supplying a delicious spread of homemade treats, generously donating raffle prizes, and inviting family and friends to join the fun. We were alos generously supported by many local businesses who donated prizes for our raffles. The morning was filled with great conversation, laughter, and a strong sense of community as everyone came together to make a difference.
The event was co-hosted by Tara and the club's dedicated Coach and Sweep, Meredith. Tara spoke passionately about the importance of supporting those affected by breast cancer, a cause deeply connected to the club’s origins.
The Cindy McKenzie Breast Cancer Program provides vital support services to women diagnosed with breast cancer, helping them navigate their treatment and recovery with practical and emotional assistance. The funds raised by SCDA Mavericks will directly benefit women in the Sunshine Coast region.
With a strong sense of community and a shared passion for making a difference, SCDA Mavericks are proud to contribute to such an important cause.
