Membership to SCDA Mavericks Dragon Boat club requires an annual membership fee to our club and a paddler levy to Dragon Boat Queensland (DBQ).
Overview
Our membership fees are in two components:
- DBQ Paddler Levy: includes membership to DBQ, limited accident insurance and public liability, boat hull insurance and ability to compete at regattas
- SCDA Mavericks Membership Fee covers:
- use of our club craft and equipment including life jackets and paddles
- participation in all training sessions (up to 3 times per week) which are led by our by our fully accredited coaching staff and sweeps.
- club operating expenses such as purchase/maintenance of equipment, vehicle registrations, lease fees of our training premise, and general running costs.

We strive to keep our fees as low as possible and we believe they offer great value. If you paddle 2 times per week, our fees are less than $3 per training session.
Payment of Fees
- The DBQ Levy is paid directly to DBQ via the Revolutionise Sports website and are renewed annually on the anniversary of joining.
- The SCDA Mavericks fees are payable by issue of an invoice directly from the club and can be paid via credit card (with a small fee) or by direct deposit. All SCDA Mavericks memberships are for 12 months fro 1 July each year and will be pro-rated if you join after 1 January.

To join our club, please follow the process below:
- New paddlers: Please email scdamavericks@outlook.com for further information
- Existing SCDA Mavericks members: Please log in and renew your membership
- Paddlers from another QLD club: Transferring to SCDA Mavericks? Please email scdamavericks@outlook.com for further information. Please ensure you have your national member ID number so we can transfer you from your old club to SCDA Mavericks.
- Interstate paddlers: Please contact us for assistance.
All members (existing and new) need to download and complete a DBQ Individual Application & Declaration Form and return to the Secretary/Registrar (scdamavericks@outlook.com) - link to file below.
Please note all memberships (new, transfers and renewals) are subject to approval by the Management Committee.
